Y-Love and Diwon are back with one of their hottest single yet, this one featuring the legendary Doodlebug of Digable Planets and Nissim. These past few years have been an intense journey for Y-Love, since his last release, also produced by Diwon, he’s lived on both coasts, and been involved with social justice movements including Occupy Wall Street, #blacklivesmatter and the movement for LGBT equality. Y-Love’s Judaism has evolved – a few times from Ultra—Chassidic to ex-ultra-Orthodox, all throughout, he remains as proud and connected as ever. These past few months have seen American nightmares come to life, and the dystopian political landscape has energized artists (as all oppressive times do) to create and spread messages of hope and solidarity, and Y-Love and Diwon are no exception. We still want to have fun and party and have positive messages and meaning in our music, though, and with this rebrand and the release of Y-Love’s new single, Rock Like Me, is just that – a fun and inspiring collaboration with the legendary Doodlebug of Digable Planets and Nissim to make everyone feel uplifted and get moving…While we get down to Tikkun Olam, work at making this world a better place.
